Shudayra at Home

Mary Anne's doll, Shudayra, began her adventure as an unadorned cloth doll with a soft sculpted face. During her visits to the other seven artists, she evolved into a highly embellished, wandering rune caster fated to return to her clan a spiritual leader.

Shudayra Visits NY

Barb made Shudayra some pantaloons (for a more comfortable ride) and outfitted her pony with tassled reins, as well as pannier and a birch bark carry basket to tote all her treasures in. She sent Shudayra home with a goddess doll, a tiny bottle of NY garnet crystals, and the rune dagaz signifying conclusion and a new day.

Gail gave Shudayra the runes Ehwaz (horse) and Jera (a year, a good harvest). She altered a horse statue with paper mache and made a paper mache umbrella for Shudayra, and added beach pebbles and an eye bead to her rune bag.
